Well before we place a blade in the ground, an Avid Trails system starts with thoughtful planning. We interview ownership and stakeholders, study the land, and most important, we take great care to understand who will be using the trails and how they’ll be used. We also understand the arena we work in, which can include environmental impacts, zoning, wetlands, jurisdictional waters, property rights, and other development constraints that can make or break a great trail system. The result is an implementable trails and recreation master plan tailored specifically for your residents and visitors.
The Avid Trails design team includes seasoned trail planners, GIS-based spacial analysts (wizardry!), thoughtful and artistic landscape architects, and some pretty talented graphic, environmental and user-experience designers. Our team has over 25 years of experience building trails in some of the most challenging places in America. We have expertise in a wide variety of surface types, including natural, crushed stone, stabilized DG, recycled millings, even rubberized surfaces. We have a keen eye for grade and drainage, and every foot of trail is built observing those two critical factors.
